Road race has advertised Okpekpe – LGA Secretary

The 10Km Road Race that began in 2013 in Okpekpe, Edo State has positively advertised the community, the Secretary to the Etsako Local Government Area has said.

 According to Benedicta Attoh, before the marathon started, the people of Okpekpe used to say they hailed from Auchi, the headquarters of the old Etsako Local Government Area and now Etsako West simply because of the remoteness of the community and lack of a tarred road.

Nigeria Olumudi ready for Okpekpe

Nigeria rave of the moment in long distance race, Aderonke Olumudi, on Sunday in a telephone conversation with our correspondent confirmed her readiness to partake at the third edition of the annual Okpekpe 10km Road Race.

The Kogi-born athlete has been in a rich vein of form since moving to the United States of America, she recently won the 10km Women’s category

3000 RUNNERS FOR OKPEKPE RACE

Over 3000 runners are expected to participate in next month’s 3rd Okpekpe 10km road race scheduled to hold in Okpekpe, Auchi in Edo state, organisers of the race have  confirmed.

‘We are expecting over three thousand runners for this year’s race which will hold on May 16,’ reveals former Nigeria track and field international,Yusuf Ali who added that interest in the race from various managers across the world have been both encouraging and overwhelming.

Okpekpe 2015: Pam gears up with Splash FM Integrity Race title
